Thank you for considering my candidacy. I’m seeking a spot on the INCBA Board of Directors because I believe I can offer a unique perspective based upon my background as patent attorney and my open but studied approach to negotiations and problem solving.
By way of introduction, I am the founder of a 4-attorney boutique intellectual-property law firm in Irvine, California. As a USPTO-registered patent attorney. I’ve spent over 20 years helping obtain, enforce, and litigate patents for inventors, entrepreneurs, and sector leaders in fields ranging from software, electronics, and consumer beauty products, to cannabis. I am proud to have obtained patents for cannabis industry icons and activists like Ed Rosenthal and Jimmy Carberry.
Away from my legal practice, I am an avid gardener. Consequently, some of my particular interests include the movement toward appellation recognition and the establishment of a name registrar for cannabis strains.
I am a past president of the Orange County (California) Intellectual Property Law Association. I enjoyed my 5 years on that board and believe my experience with the OCIPLA makes me a strong candidate for the INCBA Board.
As an INCBA member, I have spoken at a number of continuing legal education events and appreciated getting to know the community. (Perhaps I’ve already met you when we chatted at an INCBA mixer at the MJBizCon, the NCIA Conference, or the Emerald Cup!)
I aspire always to be open and non-judgmental, but still thorough and methodical. If elected to the Board, I promise to apply myself to representing you with industry and enthusiasm.
I ask for your vote and thank you for your kind attention.
